Crops and Florals

Top: ASTR Rosa Crop Top / Bottoms: Madewell Flea Market Denim
Sunnies: BR Margeaux Sunglasses / Handbag: Limited Fringe

I think it's really funny how growing up you always wondered what in the world your parent were thinking as far as fashion then you find yourself wearing the exact same thing! I never would have imagined rocking the same bell bottom pants my mom wore decades ago. The only upsetting part is she didn't retain her wardrobe for my wearing pleasure!

If your mom did the same disservice, don't fret, many of cute flare denim jeans out there!

Frock and Kicks

Dress: H&M Satin Dress (under $20!) / Jacket: Nordstrom Trouve (splurge) / Shoes: Nike Flex Fury

Hi dolls! I don't know about you but when I travel I love walking everywhere! And what comes with tons of walking must come comfy shoes. But wearing shoes that are good to your feet doesn't mean it will take away from your look. Today I opted for a satin dress and created a sporty chic look by adding these Nike Flex Fury kicks. No destination was too far or out of the question wearing these babies! Here are a few other sneaks I'm really loving!

And Other Stories

Photos by: Larry Wong

Dress: & Other Stories / Handbag: Rebecca Minkoff / Shoes: Rockstud heels (splurge, steal!)

One of the things I love about traveling overseas is finding beautiful clothing that I can bring home! My trip to Stockholm this year I discovered my new favorite stores; & Other Stories! I would say it’s a mix of Neiman Marcus and Anthropology with more affordable prices. It’s set up like a very small department store; clothing department, beauty department, shoe department, etc. But it didn’t FEEL like a department store, each department felt like it’s on small boutique!

I spotted this LBD on the ground floor and what won me over was the slight pleating on the neckline and the open draping on the back! I have to admit, I’m weak when it comes to backless items!! This dress I can wear to work, date night and even dinner with friends! I’m also loving these LBD’s!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fashion Duo

Top: J.Crew Keeper Chambray / Skirt: Leifsdottir Striped Jade Skirt (on sale!) / Necklace: Anthro
Shoes: Kate Spade Licorice (on sale!) / Lips: Nars / Sunnies: Super America Sunglasses

Happy Sunday All! I hope everyone is having wonderful weekend so far! Today is a special post, this is my first joint blogger post and my girlfriend Lisa recently started a fashion blog that I'm excited to share; Haute Ashbury! I've known her for about 5 years through working at Wells Fargo and I've always been a little jealous of this gal, she's always so stinking cute and well put together! Just look at her, 5 months preggers and she's as edgy as any women I know! You must head over to her blog...it's different than most since she and another fashionista, Nahal, share their looks. It's pretty refreshing to see two fashion styles appearing daily on one blog. You'll probably want to check out where she copped her items from anyway. FYI- believe it or not, that dress is not maternity!

The beauty of wearing a super colorful skirt is the ability to wear a casual top and still look stylish and dressy enough for work. I tell you, chambray is probably one of my top staple pieces! You literally can pull off any look with it! Here are a few other great chambray and printed skirt combos!

Till next time dolls!

Day in De Pijp

Sweater: Banana Republic Stitch Open Cardi (on sale!) / Top: J.Crew Verticle Stripe (Inverse color)        Tee: J.Crew Linen Baseball Tee L'Amour Triomphe / Bottoms: AG The Nikki Jeans
Handbag: Rebecca Minkoff 'Quilted Affiar' (on sale!!)
Sunnies: Ray Ban 'Original Aviator' / Lips: NARS velvet Matte (walkyrie)

It seems like every neighborhood in Amsterdam is uber hip! Today I walked through a neighborhood south of Amsterdam; De Pijp. I happened to find quite a few things to spend the day! First and foremost, food! I had brunch at an amazing Aussie restaurant, this was actually my first time having Australian cuisine. The streets are sprinkled with cafe's and coffeeshop (no coffee served if you get my drift!). And on the main street there is a huge street market with different vendors, food carts, florists and everything in between! It's the largest outdoor market in the country! With that said, I've got my top list of things to do in De Pijp:

Eat: John Collins, Omleeg and De Waaghals for brunch and lunch. Cafe Restaurant Braque, Le Restaurant and Bazar for dinner. If traveling with a large group, Bazar is perfect!

Shop: Albert Cuypmarkt - there are dozens and dozens of stores, food vendors, produce to choose from.

Drink: Blackboard Canteen, Chocolate Bar for cocktails. Bar with views go to Twenty Third Bar.

Activities: Canal Tour and Bike ride through the neighborhood. Park of choice, Sarphati Park

Are there any great spots I missed?? Please share!

Vasa and Abba

Sweater: Banana republic / Bottoms: Sloan Front Leather Legging (on sale!) / Scarf: Merona (old, similar here and here) / Boots: Frye Veronica Shortie / Handbag: Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Affair

Planning a trip to Stockholm was a must needed getaway for some R&R... I wasn't sure what to expect besides a chili museum hopping winter excursion and long reflective café stops but I must say Stockholm has me smitten. Today I did a little window shopping in Ostermalm and visited the Vasa and Abba museum. The Vasa Museum was effective in making me feel like I stepped foot into the 17th Century with the huge 64 gun (cannons!) salvaged warship. Incredible how they were able to fully restore such an old vessel and some contents including the clothing from some nordic trendsetters. Now, the ABBA museum. This has to be one of the most fun and interactive museum i've visited to date...music lovers I'm sure will share the same feelings. After recording a song in a studio, performing live on stage while being recorded, and getting smoothered by all of the Platinum and Gold records, I left leaving feeling like a super star! Not to mention being able to return home and view all the footage directly on my computer. The ABBA is a must see!

After all my performances your girl got hit with an enormous appetite! I wanted something that was traditional to Sweden, something that was hearty and felt like home. I came across traditional Scandinavian restaurant called Pelikan that was approved by a few locals. All I can say is Delicious!! It would be the equivalent to going to grandmothers and sitting at a table full of southern dishes. Cooked with tender love and care. After eating here, Sweden began to feel more like home!

Thank goodness my choice of attire today was comfy and functional!

Till next time beauts!

Morning Cup

Top: Free People (similar here and here) / Bottoms: Zara High Waist Trousers /
Hat: Banana Republic Blair (in stores, similar here and here) / Lips: Nars Palais Royal

Happy Tuesday!! Hope everyone had a great start to the week! I am literally counting down the coming weeks, I can't believe the holidays are almost here!

With the cooling weather in SF comes chunky sweaters and hot chocolate :-) My staple workwear item is a black trouser...it's super easy to match, comfy and one of the best professional closet essentials a girl can have! I'm wearing a super chunky Free People sweater today, one of which I normally wear with denim or layered over a tee. Because it's a slightly cropped sweater, wearing a high-waist pant is a must! How do you wear your favorite chunky sweater??

Thanks for stopping by loves!

Summertime Sadness

Photos by: Larry Wong

Top: Chelsea28 Floral Lace  / Shorts: Abercrombie / Booties: VS (similar here)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac / Lips: Nars Carthridge

That time has finally come...the end of summer! Oh, it's so bittersweet. Yes I love waking up to the bright summer sun, brunch outdoors on the waterfront, hiking in the summer heat,  and being a beach bum on the weekends. But I also love the gorgeous colors of the trees in fall, watching the colors of the landscape change, the time I finally get to spend with extended family over the holidays and getting to ring in the New Year all over again! But since I'm a little obsessed with summer I thought I'd share my last summer look!

Lace is one of my favorite patterns and I enjoy playing with different looks. I've never actually tried dressing it down but now that I have, think I will more often! What makes this top more versatile is the wide boxy shape of the shirt and the wide bell lace sleeves...and who can resist a scalloped shape hem and sleeves?! Chelsea28's floral lace sleeve my week's must have!

Here are other laces tops that made the cut ;-)

Sweater Ambition

Shoes: Converse / Hat: J.Crew Hat / Bag: RM Mini MAC / Lips: NARS Volga

It's another week closer to fall, I can't believe how fast summer has past! I've been so busy at work I have not had much time to do anything for myself. The systems development group I work for has been undergoing so many changes this quarter and I find myself up late, more frequently past midnight, just to get them implemented! I'm not too bummed about it since this month is the final implementation date and...I finally go on my must needed vacation!! I'm looking forward to sharing that with all of you friends.

What I like about coming into fall are the transitional fall pieces. I scored this super cool Leigh Drape Duster Sweater during Nordstroms Anniversary Sale. It sold out and now I see they'e replenished their stock online! :-) I like that it is extremely light weight so I can wear it in the summer on top of a tank and it be totally weather appropriate. I can even see myself wearing this with some boyfriend shorts and maybe a casual dress. It's my first time wearing...I can't wait to experiment more with it! I also coped the leather moto inspired Trouve Faux leather leggings during the sale. Great buy and even better, they are all under $100! Can't beat that. Were you able to score anything during Nordi's Anniversary?? Do share! And send me the link so I can check it out!

Talk soon beauts!
